Here’s a list of Activities For Fall 2020. All taking place VIRTUALLY!

Chess Club
Grades: K-5
Cost: $55
Start Date: 09/07/2020 – 12/8/2020

The sessions will include optional daily (M-F) online chess tournaments and two interactive “Zoom” classes a week where students may observe, practice and get instructor feedback on the theme of the week and student games. There will also be one or two prerecorded video lessons for students to watch on the theme of the week prior to the classes so students can practice and prepare questions for the Coaches about the topic. Tournaments and Zoom classes will last from one to one and a half hours and be held outside of MCPS school hours. As students’ skills improve, they may be promoted from one group to the next level group. If an experienced student needs additional help, they may be invited for a class to join a lower group to practice a specific skill set. All students will be able to contact the Coaches directly with online messages.
