Coding with Kids - Game Development (Grades: 3rd - 5th)
Do you love playing games and telling stories? If you do, then this course is perfect for you! Get ready to learn how to code and express your creativity. We'll be using Scratch, a fun drag-and-drop coding tool which lets you create cool games, animations, and interactive stories. In this course, you will build exciting projects like games where characters jump and run on scrolling platforms, stories where you can navigate through a maze, and even multiplayer games to play with your friends! If you're just starting out, we'll begin by learning the basics of coding games. We'll teach you how to make things happen in your games using loops, conditions, and variables. Returning students will move on to more interesting concepts like using special conditions and making functions that can do different tasks. For those who want an extra challenge, we'll explore advanced topics like game physics, working with arrays (a way to store lots of information), and even adding artificial intelligence to your games! So get ready to have a blast!
Time: 3.50 - 4.50 pm
Dates: 04/22/2025-06/03/2025

Zoo Adventures After-school LEGO Club -Whiz Kid Academy
Traverse tricky terrain, shake claws with lobsters, and design ecosystems in this life science enrichment program. Exploring the globe, learners discover the diversity of animal adaptations, habitat differences, and what’s necessary for each biome’s survival through hands-on STEM activities. They’ll travel from the Sahara's sands to the Himalayas' peaks, investigating complex creatures as they build models of each animal, focusing on the biological diversity that makes them unique. Through creative thinking, collaboration, and multi-subject integration, BrickLABZoofosters a unique bond to the Earth’s biospheres and the vital roles animals play in them.

Physics of Sound and Flight: Hums, Buzzers, and Whirligig -Big Learning
Shake, rattle and go! Toot tunes on test tubes and buzz on kazoos to explore how sounds are made, how they travel, and how we hear them. Make yourself a giant pair of ears and a model of your voice box. Create rhythms and waves in different ways to explore the concept of vibration. Build and experiment with different fliers that soar through the air and compare them to parachutes that create drag. Which design will fly the best?
Time: 4:05-5:05p
Dates: 4/3/25-5/29/25
Grades k-2
Cost: $182
Physics of Sound and Flight: Good Vibrations! -Big Learning
Strum, buzz, and pop! How does sound travel? How do your ears hear? Investigate the complex auditory system and how things fly in this fun hands-on adventure! Build a guitar, kazoo, pan flute, and whistle from scratch and simulate sound waves while exploring pitch, tones, and frequencies. Then discover the science behind flight and test different model airplanes, kites, and rockets while exploring aerodynamic forces!
